| We’re number one! It just wouldn’t
be New Year’s Day without the clash of the North and South in the
annual Garbage Bowl in Montreal West. This year was no exception, and
the winners, the Southern Bombers, above, were all smiles after trouncing
the Northern Combines by a score of 12-6. The teams were clad in long
underwear and pyjamas for this year’s game, which, aside from being
a fun way to ring in the new year, is played for charity. Last year’s
game raised $19,000 for various charities. This year’s proceeds
        have yet to be tallied.
